All payments in lieu of notice are subject to tax and national insurance contributions in the usual way. The amount that your employer has to pay you which represents your payment in lieu of notice will be included in your Compromise Agreement.

I have been given my redundancy notice of 11 weeks. If i decide to leave now and not work it am i still entitled to the payment in leiu? Ive been told i get my redundancy regardless. Can you also tell me if the redundancy amount is 11 weeks at my salary (before tax) or is it capped at £380pw? nothing about redundancy is stated in my contract

i am being paid in lieu of notice for the final 6 weeks of my notice period & am therefore not required to work, however who pays for my NI contributions during this period (6 weeks)?
