Where an employee is facing redundancy, he or she must ensure that his or her expenses (including travel expenses) are submitted as early as possible and in any event, before a compromise agreement is signed by both parties. When advising on redundancies and compromise agreements, we always urge that an employee check his or her employer’s policy regarding expenses because it is common for an employer to refuse to pay any late expenses.
